Navy veteran. Former Dallas police officer. 25-year telecom leader. Lifelong Collin County resident fighting for public schools, fair maps, and affordable housing.
Jackie Bescherer isn't a career politician — she's a problem-solver who's spent her entire life serving her community, from the Navy to the Dallas Police Department to the boardrooms of global telecom companies.
A graduate of Plano Senior High, UNT, and SMU's MBA program, Jackie raised both her sons right here in Collin County. She's volunteered with the YMCA of McKinney, the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center, Alex's Lemonade Stand, and Planned Parenthood. She's traveled all seven continents and brought that worldview back home to Texas.
Now she's running to make sure every family in District 61 has a voice in Austin — one that actually fights for strong public schools, fair elections, and a cost of living that doesn't price people out of their own neighborhoods.
Four pillars for a stronger District 61 — rooted in Collin County values and common-sense solutions.
McKinney ISD is closing schools. Teachers are leaving the profession. Voucher schemes threaten to siphon money from neighborhood schools while funding falls below the national average. Jackie will fight for competitive teacher pay, oppose vouchers, and ensure every child in District 61 gets the world-class education they deserve.
Gerrymandering is election rigging — plain and simple. Jackie supports a bipartisan redistricting commission made up of real community members, not politicians choosing their voters. Every Texan deserves a vote that actually counts.
Since 2020, Collin County housing prices have exploded — driven in part by private equity firms bulk-buying single-family homes. Jackie will push for sensible limits on corporate home buying, expand first-time buyer grants, and encourage more starter home construction for families, teachers, and veterans.
Our elections shouldn't be for sale. Jackie supports strong limits on campaign donations, clear rules on stock trading by elected officials, and real restrictions on lobbyist access. Public service means serving the public — not cashing in.
An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.
